Digital Demos
Every month or so, Deakin Library runs a brief, online session featuring a new digital tool or concept. Other staff can dial in, watch the presentation, try out the tool and ask questions about how it could help with their day-to-day work.
This is a great way to find out about other staff members’ favourite digital tools and secret workflow hacks, without taking up too much time.
If you’ve missed any of the previous Digital Demos, you can find the recordings on the Digital Demo guide.
Here’s what’s coming up:
Digital Demo: Phrase Express software
Friday 9 September, 2:00–2.30pm (Zoom)
In this session, Learning Environments Developer Mary Ishak and Senior Finance Systems Administrator Bhavya Dhamankar will be chatting to us about PhraseExpress.
PhraseExpress is a tool that manages frequently used text templates, and it works in any program (Outlook, ServiceNow, MS Word etc.). You can set up keyboard shortcuts for instant access to pre-written text that you want to reuse.
This handy tool can help ease many repetitive tasks and can significantly reduce your total keystrokes/mouse clicks each day!
Phrase Express is available to Deakin staff via the Self Install Share (SIS), which you can get to via the Software Centre > Additional Software.
If you’re on a Mac you can download Phrase Express from the website
Note: If you are off-campus you will need to login to the VPN to access the SIS.
This session will be recorded and made available in the Digital Demo guide, approximately one-week post-session.
