Welcome to Deakin’s Development-Humanitarian Research Group

The Development-Humanitarian Research Group (formerly [email protected]) formed in 2019. We are a multidisciplinary group of scholars, exploring all aspects of international development, community development and humanitarian action. The group builds on a rich history of Development Studies and Humanitarian scholarship at Deakin, including the very successful Centre for Citizenship, Development and Human Rights, which ran 1994-2014 under the leadership of Prof Sue Kenny.

Acknowledgment of Country
The Development-Humanitarian Research Gro gives respect to the First Peoples of Australia. We are honoured to work and meet on the lands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and extend our respect to their ancestors and knowledge holders. We recognise that colonisation continues to impact upon Indigenous Peoples in Australia. We also recognise that Indigenous Peoples’ connection to Country remains strong and we acknowledge the custodians of Country where we walk, share and learn.
