Sheridan is the recipient of the Deakin Residential Services Highest Academic Achiever in the Arts and Education Faculty (Warrnambool Campus Arts). Studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary), Sheridan moved on to residence at this year having completed high school studies at Trinity College in Colac.
Sheridan highlights that is her passion for her course which motivates her to learn as much as she can to become the best possible teacher. “It’s been a unique experience beginning University the same time as a global pandemic. I’ve always been a perfectionist and although with it’s been a challenging year, I’ve still tried my best and really applied myself to my studies.”
Sheridan adds, “…living on residence has honestly had such a positive impact on all aspects of my life. Being my first time living out of home, it has made me so much more independent. It’s also given me access to ideal study spaces so that I can do my best work.”
Her advice for other residents? “It’s all about finding the right balance. You need to make time to study if you want to achieve your academic goals. However, you need to also make time for yourself and to spend time with others to keep yourself sane and to have the most enjoyable experience possible!”
