Queer Collaborations Conference 2019
30 June - 5 July$533
Queer Collaborations (QC) is the largest national queer and LGBTQIA+ student conference within Australia. Each year, approximately 200 students gather to make new connections, share ideas and experiences, collaborate on campaigns and projects and educate one another. This six-day conference involves a series of lectures, workshops and roundtables.
QC was first established in 1991 at the University of Sydney and this year will be the first time it’s hosted by Deakin University. QC will be held at Deakin University’s Warrnambool Campus, a three-hour drive from Melbourne on the Great Ocean Rd and surrounded by natural beauty.
Ticket price covers accommodation, lunch and dinner will be provided at the Warrnambool Campus.

ABOUT Queer Collaborations
For almost three decades, QC has provided a supportive and collaborative gathering place for queer students. QC allows queer students to constructively develop policy, advocacy campaigns and educational activities, and build networks that support queer students during their studies and upon graduation.
Since 1991, there has been enormous progress within Australia, including the complete decriminalisation of homosexuality, abolishment of the “gay panic defence” in most states, amended adoption laws, increased recognition of transgender people’s gender on their birth certificate, legislated marriage equality, and more support for gender diverse communities.
Part of what has made this systematic change possible is a solid base of grassroots activism, and QC has provided an important meeting place for activists and queer students to meet and exchange ideas and will continue to do so into the future.
