If you’re an international student studying at Deakin, we invite you to come and enjoy a fun day out learning to surf with GO surf school.
GO Surf School teaches you the skills of surfing and how to handle yourself and your surfboard in the ocean while having a lot of fun along the way.

What to expect:
- Your coach will introduce themselves and get you sorted with a wetsuit and board.
- You will start with some beach-based technique and surf safety info.
- You then hit the surf in waist-deep water and waves suitable for your ability (swimming ability is not a prerequisite although it is preferred).
- Surf coaches will help get you up and riding by pushing you into a few waves, giving feedback on your technique, keeping an eye on your safety, encouraging you and maximising your fun.
What to bring:
- Swimmers (bathers/shorts), towel, sunscreen, warm clothes to change into.
Please meet at Brother Fox cafe at Deakin Warrnambool Campus at 11.30am for some free lunch and to meet other students. A chartered bus will then take the group to Warrnambool Beach for your surfing lessons and return you to campus by 3.30pm.
