What is the Consumer Network?
The Consumer Network is part of the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN) and brings together community members and researchers to make sure the voices of people with lived experience are embedded in health research. Through this network, you can collaborate with researchers to help shape research that is relevant, accessible and will make a genuine difference for the communities who need it the most.
IPAN’s research focuses on the role of active living, sport, exercise, food and nutrition to create healthy, thriving communities and to reduce the rates of chronic health conditions.
What do members do?
As a Consumer Network member, you can:
- share your perspectives and lived experience to inform research
- provide feedback on projects, resources and initiatives
- contribute to the development of research interventions that support healthier lifestyles
- help ensure research reflects diverse community needs.
You choose what research you want to get involved in based on your interest, skills and availability.
All students welcome
Whether you’re studying health, psychology, business, law, engineering or any other discipline, your insight matters. We welcome students with diverse voices of all ages and backgrounds to get involved.
You don’t need any formal experience to join – just an interest in health, wellbeing and making a difference.
