Wellbeing Live Chat will answer your questions if you feel overwhelmed or lost

Feeling overwhelmed in your studies at the moment? Are pressures from your assessments or personal problems making it hard to focus?

Looking after yourself and your wellbeing is important and will also make it easier to complete your Uni work.

If you need some help, Wellbeing Live Chat is returning from Tuesday 28 April to Friday 28 May 2026.

Wellbeing Live Chat

Wellbeing Live Chat is a free and anonymous service to ask any questions you have about your emotional wellbeing. For instance, you might ask how to manage your stress or anxiety, how to stop procrastination, how to reduce loneliness or how to improve your relationships.

You will then receive an answer in real time from a Deakin mental health professional.

When and where will Wellbeing Live Chat be available?

You can access Wellbeing Live Chat from Tuesday 28 April to Friday 28 May, each week from Monday to Friday between the hours of 1.30 to 4pm AEST.

When active, the Wellbeing Live Chat will become accessible on the Wellbeing Live Chat webpage. Send your question and you’ll receive a response promptly.

Outside of Wellbeing Live Chat availability

If you have questions when the Wellbeing Live Chat is not available, you can still submit your question through Ask Counselling.

With Ask Counselling, a response to your question will be published by one of our Deakin counsellors within 72 hours. The posts are published anonymously, so no one will know it’s from you. You’ll need to log back into Ask Counselling to locate your question and answer.

You can also browse the answers to other students’ questions by topic to see if anyone else has asked anything similar and so you can know that you are not alone in what you’re experiencing.

Want to talk one-on-one?

Wellbeing Live Chat and Ask Counselling aren’t intended to replace personal counselling.

If you need urgent help, contact an emergency service

Please note, neither Wellbeing Live Chat nor Ask Counselling are 24-hour crisis services. You are not alone and there is professional help available to you at all times.
