If you’re a Business and Law student starting your studies in Trimester 1, sign up today to join a peer mentor group.
Our groups are led by experienced student mentors invested in helping you achieve the best you can in your studies. Also find out about the other sessions and events offered to help all Business and Law students, below.
Peer mentor program
The peer mentor program runs weekly for the first five weeks of Trimester 1. You’ll be grouped with and meet up with your mentor and a small group of new students in the same or similar degrees online or on campus.
By joining the program, you will:
- gain study support and learn study techniques
- meet other students to build connections
- set yourself up for success and be inspired!

Your mentor(s) will then send an email to your Deakin account to arrange the details of your first meeting.
Drop-in spaces
Our drop-in spaces are open to all Business and Law students at any stage of your university journey – have a break on us with chats, free snacks and a chance to win café vouchers and Deakin merchandise.
It’s an opportunity to connect with our student mentor team leaders (and our academics who may join us), have your questions answered or simply have a chat. Feel free to attend even if you haven’t joined our 5-week program.
The locations for the sessions are:
- Burwood Campus. Elgar Road, Building LC Level 2, Common Space LC2.003 next to lifts
- Geelong Waterfront Campus, Building D, Level 2, community area next to Student Central

Study Success sessions
Access our 30-minute recordings aimed at helping you succeed in your studies and beyond. If you are a commencing Business and Law student in T1 2026, you’ll automatically receive details about these sessions via our weekly email.
All session recordings and presentation slides are available for all business and law students to access in our MS Teams Business and Law Mentor Community.
