Nursing or Food and Nutrition students, gain cross-cultural experience with these study tours!

Want to see the world as you study? We’re offering eligible Faculty of Health students the opportunity to undertake a Nursing study tour in Thailand or a Food and Nutrition study tour in Indonesia and Malaysia.

These are amazing opportunities to gain course credit, tick off some real-world work experience and enhance your professional skills while getting to experience these wonderful cultures first-hand!

Indonesia and Malaysia Food and Nutrition Study Tour

Tentative study tour dates: 21 November – 5 December 2026

The School of Exercise and Nutrition Science will be running a Food and Nutrition Study Tour again in Trimester 3 2026 to Indonesia and Malaysia. The tour is open to undergraduate students completing Year 2 or Year 3 or post-graduate students studying with a nutrition or food science focus.

Through this two-week study tour, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the context of food, nutrition and health from an international perspective.

Nursing Thailand Study Tour

Study tour dates: Friday 19 June – Saturday 4 July 2026

If you’re a Nursing student, enhance your understanding of cross-cultural health and nursing care in this two-week study tour to Chiang Rai and Bangkok. You will have the chance to compare different health systems and learn directly from health professionals, community members and policy makers in Thailand.

Visit various wards in hospitals, observe traditional medicine practices, learn from local practitioners on public health initiatives and care provided for their communities, and visit various cultural sites including Golden Triangle and Wat Rong Khun (White Temple).
