Respect Week 2026: Join us for food and activities while helping build a respectful community!

All healthy relationships—with friends, family, fellow students, teachers or partners—are built on respect. While it may seem obvious that we should think about other people’s feelings, wishes and rights when interacting with them, relationships can be complicated. It’s important for everyone to understand how to remain respectful in different situations and spaces.

That’s why Victorian tertiary education institutions have teamed up to bring you Respect Week. Respect Week promotes a safe, respectful and inclusive environment and the understanding and prevention of gender-based violence across campuses, online spaces and surrounding communities.

Deakin is starting things off for 2026, so come along to the events and activities we’ll be running on each of our Australian campuses throughout the week of Monday 9 until Friday 13 March.

Remember, it’s up to all of us to help create a safe and inclusive University community where everyone feels supported to be their best.

Join us for Respect Week events

Join us for some tasty food and get involved in a range of games and activities, while learning more about being respectful.

You’ll also be able to talk to members of the Equity and Inclusion and Safer Community teams to learn about the support and services they can provide you.
