Share your thoughts on genAI and inclusion in assessments and get a AU$30 gift card

The use of generative artificial intelligence (genAI) is growing and changing, including in university assessments.

We would love to hear your thoughts on the use of genAI tools—such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude—in assessments. Especially whether, in a world with genAI, you feel current assessments are inclusive and equitable or if there’s room for improvement.

Who are we?

We’re a small team of Deakin researchers developing a toolkit to help educators design more inclusive and secure assessments in a time of genAI.

To help shape the toolkit and ensure it works for students as well as educators, we’d love to find out about your experiences of assessment and genAI, as well as inclusive and equitable assessment.

What’s happening?

We’ll be running two online discussion sessions, as well as one in-person session at Warrnambool. The sessions will run for one hour.

In the sessions, you’ll share your own experiences with assessment, inclusion and genAI. You’ll also be asked to consider how we can improve things for students in the future.

To thank you for sharing your time and thoughts with us, you’ll receive a AU$30 e-gift card.

Who can take part?

If you’re a student who has experienced assessments in a previous study period at Deakin, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re particularly interested in the perspectives of students who might have a learning access plan, are first in family to attend university, are studying online, come from rural, regional or remote areas, have financial barriers to study, or have work or caring commitments.

How to get involved

Let us know you’re interested in taking part in a discussion session by completing an expression of interest form.

You’ll be asked to provide your name and email address, and to indicate when you’d be available to join a session.
