Meet Noah, your 2026 DUSA President
Say hello to Noah Smith, your new Deakin University Student Association (DUSA) President!
As the leader of the DUSA Student Council, Noah—along the 2026 team of elected student representatives—is passionate about improving and making a positive impact on every students’ experience at Deakin. From campus resources and student connections, to working with the University on student-related matters, the DUSA team is here to support and advocate for you.
You may not always see it, but the Student Council is constantly working behind the scenes to bring about real change. They’ve secured practical benefits like Mini Marts on the Burwood and Geelong campuses, extended 24/7 library access towards the end of each study period, and supported students across the year with their range of support services.
Now, let’s get to know Noah as he shares more about himself and his goals for DUSA in 2026!
Hi, I’m Noah, and I’m your DUSA President for 2026! I’m a third-year Bachelor of Law/International Relations student and have been a part of DUSA since 2023, first as a student councillor before moving to Vice President – Education, and now President.
I joined DUSA because I was passionate about making student life better at Deakin. When I first came to Deakin, I had no idea that student unions existed at universities, let alone DUSA. I first got involved with DUSA in my first year through several different clubs and OFest events. After seeing first hand what DUSA provides and strives to achieve for students, I decided I wanted to be a part of that.
What do I love most about being a part of DUSA? I love being able to make real change for all Deakin students in so many different ways. Whether it’s advocating for better education resources, welfare initiatives or encouraging clubs to form communities, I love being a part of making Deakin a better place for all.
In 2026, I am excited to advocate for initiatives that will make a positive difference for all Deakin students, such as automatic extensions and 24/7 Library access across all campuses.
If you see me on campus, feel free say hi, I’m always up for a large latte and a chat!
Got a question? You can send me an email at dusa-president@deakin.edu.au. You can also contact your student representatives through dusa-contact@deakin.edu.au.
