In the Faculty of Business and Law, we know that our most important stakeholders are you – our students. We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the Student Chair and Student Representative membership of the 2026 Student Experience and Engagement Committee (SEEC).
You could help to influence and enhance the study journey of all Business and Law students, while adding to your CV, so it’s a win-win!

‘Being the Student Chair student studying Bachelor of Commerce/Science provided a distinctive perspective.
‘Holding an executive role in the Commerce Society allowed me to voice student concerns related to society events and engagement, and SEEC provided channels to address these issues with the invaluable input of both students and faculty. I brought authentic student voices into the 3 faculty meetings and helped translate discussions into tangible outcomes for my peers, effectively bridging the gap between student societies and university decision makers.
‘Through SEEC, I developed professional competencies in advocacy, collaboration, and governance. This experience taught me how to represent student concerns effectively, communicate between students and faculty, and contribute to decision making processes. For example, I participated in discussions on assessment due dates, feedback practices, and challenges faced by student societies ensuring that student perspectives were considered in these conversations.’
How to get involved
The first step is to complete the Expression of Interest form.
You can apply to be the student chair who chairs each meeting with our academic chair or you can apply for one of the student representative roles, e.g., International student, online student, Resi student, undergraduate, postgraduate and the list goes on.
SEEC Meetings are held at Burwood/Waterfront with option to join meetings via Zoom.
- SEEC Meeting 1: Wednesday 25 March, 2–4pm
- SEEC Meeting 2: Wednesday 22 July, 2–4pm
- SEEC Meeting 3: Wednesday 11 November, 2–4pm
