Celebrating Deakin’s 2025 Sport Awards champions!
The 2025 Deakin Sport Awards were held on Thursday 20 November at Deakin Downtown, where we celebrated the remarkable energy, dedication and achievements of our elite student-athletes over the past year.
This year, Deakin’s Elite Athlete Program continued to expand its national and international presence, with students competing at World Championships, World Cups, global university competitions and national-level events across a broad range of sports. Their strong performances highlighted both the depth of talent in the program and the commitment our student-athletes bring to balancing study and elite competition.
It was another outstanding year at the UniSport Nationals and UniSport National Championships, with Deakin fielding one of its biggest teams in recent years. More than 250 student-athletes represented the University across team and individual events, delivering standout results, breakthrough performances and a number of memorable podium finishes. Deakin was also represented across multiple standalone UniSport championships, including Athletics, 3×3 Basketball, Swimming, Indigenous Nationals, Distance Running and more.
This year’s ceremony also acknowledged the continued growth of the Elite Athlete Program, which now supports more than 260 student-athletes and performers, and has welcomed over 200 graduates since its inception.
A huge congratulations to all of our 2025 award recipients!
