Business and Law students, get the most from your studies with our mentoring program!

If you’re a Business and Law student starting your studies in Trimester 3, sign up today to join the Peer mentor Program. If you are a current Business and Law student who is interested in being a mentor, read on.

Peer mentor program

Our five week peer mentoring program runs every trimester in Weeks 1–5 and is open to all Business and Law students. Commencing students can get a mentor and experienced current students can be a mentor.

We offer a blend of campus and online mentoring so that you can take part no matter where you’re located. Mentoring is a small group of new students, in the same or similar degrees, matched with a mentor and who meet up weekly, either online or on campus.

Get a mentor

Be supported by, and get advice from an experienced student

Our student mentors are experienced students who care about and are invested in your success. Joining the program is an excellent way to get started or continue your learning journey.

You will:

Your mentor will send an email to your Deakin email to arrange the details of your first meeting. All Business and Law students commencing this study period are encouraged to join the Faculty of Business and Law Peer Mentoring program. The time to sign up is now! You can join the program up until Friday 14 November to be matched into a group. Register today.

Week 1 starts on Monday 3 November, sessions run daily from 2–3pm and we’ll have snacks!

Drop-in spaces

Our drop-in spaces are open to all Business and Law students at any stage of your university journey –have a break on us with chats, snacks, café vouchers and merchandise to win!

It’s an opportunity to connect with other students (and our academics who may join us), have your questions answered or simply have a chat. You can drop-in even if you haven’t joined the five week program, we’d love to see you!

Study Success sessions

Helping you succeed in your studies and beyond

Join our online 30–45 minute workshops to help you succeed in your course. If you are a commencing Business and Law student in T3 2025, you will automatically receive details about these sessions via our weekly email. If you are not a commencing Business or Law student in T3 but would like to join, please request the Zoom details by emailing bl-mentor@deakin.edu.au.

Support new students in their first few weeks of study

Are you a current and experienced Business or Law student who wants to support new students? We offer training and resources to help you become a mentor.

By joining the program you will:

Eligible students will also gain access to a $700 grant as part of the Faculty Volunteer Peer Mentor Support Scheme. Applications to be a mentor in T1 2026 are now open and close on Friday 16 January 2026. Apply today!
