ADHD support: help is available with managing your studies and Uni life

Undertaking university study can be difficult at times. For those living with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), you may feel like you’re struggling or worried about the impact your symptoms could have on your ability to study effectively.

With appropriate support, you can achieve success at university and in your chosen career – and we are here to help you find strategies which work for you!

Join the ADHD Study Group

If you’re interested in meeting other students with lived experience of ADHD to study together, learn and share study strategies and form a community, join the Trimester 3 Online ADHD Study Group!

This group will run weekly, online via Zoom, from Week 3 until Study Week in Trimester 3. This group is a neuro-affirming and inclusive space and will be facilitated by Deakin’s experienced Disability Liaison Officers.

Connect with Deakin support services

If you are struggling with managing your studies and day-to-day life with ADHD, you can make an appointment with Deakin Counselling at any time to discuss strategies.

You can also contact Deakin’s Disability Resource Centre to explore academic adjustments through an Access Plan that will allow you to achieve your best.

The Current Students website includes some handy advice on how to reduce the challenging impacts of ADHD on your studies. Keep in mind that what works for one student may not work for you, so trying different strategies is crucial to finding what study routines and resources are most suited to your needs.
