New SEBE students – be supported by our peer mentors in your first trimester
New to Deakin? Studying Science, IT, Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management? You are encouraged to join the Peer Mentor Program for supported transition, to connect with your peers, and to set yourself up for success!
We know adjusting to university life and your studies can be challenging at first. That’s why the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Built Environment (SEBE) Peer Mentor Program is here to support you. SEBE peer mentors are experienced students from your study area, who are further along in their degree, and are ready to support you in your first five weeks at Deakin.
Peer mentors host weekly online meetings for commencing students – check your Deakin email account during OWeek for your invitation. You’ll be grouped with students and mentors from your study area, to learn all the tips and tricks to succeed from those in the know. The best time to get in touch with a peer mentor is in Week 1, so don’t wait!
Peer Mentor Online Meetings
In Weeks 1 to 5, join our online Peer Mentor meetings, to meet your peer mentors, connect with other students in your study area, and find out how to access student support services. New students, check your Deakin email for your invitation and details on how to access the mentor meetings–we’ve also included instructions in the linktree.
