Become a Health Peer Mentor for 2026: help new students, gain experience and boost your CV!
Mentor applications are now open for the Faculty of Health Peer Mentor Program for Semester 1 and Trimester 1 2026.
What is the Peer Mentor Program?
Starting university can be an intimidating time and so peer mentors play an important role supporting new students transitioning to Deakin. As a mentor, you’ll use your experience and knowledge to help new students adjust, sharing advice about Deakin’s services, general study skills and social activities.
The Faculty of Health Peer Mentor Program matches new Health students with a peer mentor during the first five weeks of their commencement at Deakin. Peer mentors are often matched to students who are studying the same course or similar subjects.
See yourself as a peer mentor?
If you’re interested in acting as a positive influence and role model for new Health students, while gaining relevant employment experience to boost your CV, apply to become a peer mentor today!

I highly recommend the program to other students because it provides a great opportunity to build connections, develop leadership and communication skills, and support new students in their university journey. It’s a rewarding experience that allows mentors to grow personally and professionally.
