Congrats to the Deakin elite-athlete students selected for the Diamonds squad!
We’re excited to announce four members of Deakin’s Elite Athlete Program have been selected for the Australian Diamonds squad announced for October’s back-to-back test series against South Africa and New Zealand.
- Joanna Weston (pictured centre) – Master of Communications
- Liz Watson (pictured right) – Bachelor of Education (Primary)
- Matilda Garrett – Graduate Diploma of Applied Sport Science
- Courtney Bruce – Bachelor of Commerce
Get ready to support your Diamonds!
The three-match 2025 South Africa Series will kick off in Bendigo on Saturday 4 October, before the Diamonds head to play in Wollongong on Wednesday 8 October before the final match in Adelaide on Sunday 12 October.
Following this, the Diamonds will then gear up to tackle the 2025 Constellation Cup at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena on Friday 17 October and the Sydney SuperDome on Wednesday 22 October, before they head to the final two matches in New Zealand to take on their formidable Silver Fern rivals.
We wish all four students and the Diamonds squad the very best of luck for their upcoming matches!
