Take just a few minutes to add your units for 2026!

Excited about continuing your Deakin studies next year? It’s easy and will only take a few minutes to add your units for 2026 in StudentConnect right now, before you forget.

If you haven’t quite made your mind up on your units, don’t worry! Just add in what you’re thinking of doing now. You can then go back in to continue making changes, adding or removing units with plenty of time to spare.

When will I find the time?

It won’t take long to get on your phone, computer or device and add your units but, in case you need some help finding the time, here are some suggestions.

But what units should I pick?

You may already have a clear idea of what you want to study in 2026, but if you’re not sure yet, it’s helpful to break it down into the following steps.

  1. Look at a summary of how you’re tracking against your course rules by checking your course completion progress in StudentConnect.
  2. Then use this information along with your course map, for the year you started studying, to work out the units you want to enrol in for 2026.
  3. You can find a list of all units available in 2026 using the unit search in the 2026 University Handbook.
  4. If you need assistance with picking your units or sorting out your course map, contact Student Central for course advice.

How do I add my units?

Adding your units is just a few simple steps:

  1. Log in to StudentConnect, click the ‘Enrolment’ button in the left-side menu, select ‘Enrol in unit/course’ and select the 2026 academic year.
  2. Enrol in all the units you’d like to study in 2026 for your required study periods (Trimester 1/Semester 1 and Trimester 2/Semester 2, 2026). Trimester 3 is optional, but you can also add units for this study period, if you’d like.
  3. If your course requires one, add a major, minor or specialisation. If you’re unsure, it’s a great idea to talk to a Student Adviser who can help you work this out. Remember that adding a major, minor or specialisation just tells us what you plan this to be. It doesn’t select the units for you in StudentConnect.
  4. If you’re not planning to study in one of these compulsory trimesters/semesters, you can apply for a period of intermission.
  5. Once you’ve added your units, you’ll see a confirmation number on screen and the message ‘Units successfully saved’.
  6. Good work! You’re done!

And remember, you can continue to make changes to your enrolment in StudentConnect any time before the start of Trimester/Semester 1 2026.

Courses with pre-enrolled units

If you’re studying a course with pre-enrolled units, it’ll take you even less time.

You’ll find your 2026 units are already waiting for you in StudentConnect. All you need to do is check and select to confirm their details.

Essential info for international students

If you’re an international student, please remember to meet your student visa requirements. You’ll need to re-enrol with a full-time study load in 2026, which is four credit points in both Trimesters 1 and 2. You can spread this load into Trimester 3 if your confirmation of enrolment (CoE) allows this. Not all units may be offered in Trimester 3.

What are you waiting for?

If you haven’t completed all your course requirements yet, you will need to re-enrol in your units to keep your place for 2026. So go on, add your units now.
