Deakin GIFT City celebrates its first successful placement cycle with NAB

Our GIFT City campus has hit an exciting milestone, wrapping up its very first student placement cycle! As the first international uni to set up a campus in India under the government’s International Branch Campus initiative, Deakin is proud to be paving the way for global education in the country.

In this first round of placements, seven students landed paid internships and full-time roles with National Australia Bank’s (NAB) India Innovation Centre once they have graduated. With NAB’s focus on innovation and digital tech, it’s the perfect match for our GIFT City grads who are ready to take on global, future-focused careers.

Khushi Saraf, a Master of Business Analytics student who landed both an internship and a job offer, said, “The opportunity to work with NAB is more than just a job offer, it’s a career breakthrough.”

Deakin’s curriculum helped me master tools like Python, Power BI and advanced analytics while also developing strategic thinking. I feel fully prepared to take on this global role.”

These placements show how strong Deakin’s hands-on, industry-focused learning really is. By combining real-world experience and mentorship, our students aren’t just getting book smarts – they’re gaining practical skills and confidence to jump straight into the workforce.

This is just the beginning

With more partnerships and career opportunities on the horizon, the success of this first placement cycle sets the tone for current and future students, and for the evolving role Deakin will continue to play in India’s higher education and workforce landscape.
