It’s the news many of you have been waiting for – our libraries at the Burwood, Waterfront and Waurn Ponds campuses will be open 24/7 from Monday 28 April – Friday 13 June! Also, Warrnambool Library is open 24/7 by swipe access. If you need a quiet spot for a late-night study session, we’ve got you covered.
What areas of the Library will be accessible?
Burwood Campus:
- Level 2 will be open 24/7
- All floors will be open and staffed from 8am–9pm Monday to Sunday.
Waurn Ponds Campus:
- Level 2 will be open 24/7
- All floors will be open and staffed from 8am–9pm Monday to Friday, and 12–5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Waterfront Campus:
- The Library will be open 24/7
- Library staff will be available from 8am–9pm Monday to Friday, and 12–5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Warrnambool Campus:
- Level 2 will be open 24/7, with swipe access for Deakin users outside staffed hours. Doors also open 11am–5pm Saturday and Sunday.
- Library staff will be available from 9am–5pm Monday to Friday, with Campus Support available all other times.
Our staffed hours will provide you access to all our floors and collection, as well as expert guidance from our Library staff. Outside of staffed hours, you’ll have access to loads of comfortable and quiet study spaces, shelves of resources and our whole digital collection.
GIFT City International Branch Campus:
- The Library is open everyday 9am – 7pm
- Librarians are online to help during Australian staffed hours.
Will any Deakin staff be around overnight?
Deakin Campus Support will be onsite outside Library staffed hours to ensure your safety.
Can I check out/return items overnight?
Yes! You can use the Deakin Borrow app or the self-checkout near the Service Desk to borrow resources. As usual, you can use the return slot to return resources anytime.
Will rooms/booths be bookable overnight?
Outside of staffed hours, study rooms and booths are bookable on a first come, first served basis.
