Moving doesn’t need to be hard, there are creative ways to move in your day-to-day life! We don’t even think about what we’re doing when we’re absorbed in something enjoyable, so to help you keep moving between classes and have some fun, we’re holding an exciting treasure hunt on each campus this month – so get detecting and you could share in our fantastic prize pool valued at $1149!
Solve your campus clues to enter now!
By 9am on each Wednesday morning for three weeks (2, 9 and 16 April) we’ll be posting a new riddle for each campus on this blog (check your campus riddle in the drop-down menu below) and the Deakin Life Instagram. Solving this riddle will lead you to discover the location of a treasure box hidden somewhere on your campus.
Once you follow the clues and spot the treasure box in its secret location, look inside the box to discover the code word inside.
For your chance to go into the draw to WIN a 2024 SE Apple Watch (40mm Midnight Aluminium Case GPS Sport Band) or a A$50 Ultimate Student eGift Card, simply complete the entry form with your details and the code word once you’ve read and consented to the Terms and Conditions. You’ll be able to access the entry form by scanning a QR code placed inside the treasure box you discover.
The treasure box will change locations each week, so remember to enter each week for maximum entries in the prize pool!

You can enter the competition up to three times (by completing one entry per week, with the week’s unique code word) for more chances to win, but even if you only enter once on any given week, you’re still in with a shot to win a great prize! You have until 9am on Wednesday 30 April 2025 to complete your entries.

The competition is free to enter and is strictly only open to current Deakin students residing in Australia.
Entrants can enter the competition a maximum of three times.

Prizes
The prize pool consists of 1 x Apple Watch SE 40mm Midnight Aluminium Case GPS Sport Band [2024] valued at A$399 and 15 x Ultimate Student eGift Cards valued at A$50 each.
The total prize pool is valued at A$1149.
How to enter
A weekly riddle and map for each participating campus will be published on the Deakin Life blog at 9:00am on Wednesday 2 April, Wednesday 9 April and Wednesday 16 April 2025.
Students will use the riddle and map to locate the hidden treasure box on their campus.Inside the treasure box will be a code word and a QR code that links to the submission form.
Students need to submit the codeword, along with their name, Student ID, campus and Deakin email address to enter the competition.
They can repeat this 3 times, across the 3 weeks to go in the draw to win one of the prizes.
Selection and notification of winner
5 x winners from Week 1 submissions will be drawn at random on Wednesday 9 April at 8:30am and will each receive a A$50Ultimate Student e-gift card.
5 x winners from Week 2 submissions will be drawn at random on Wednesday 16 April at 8:30am and will each receive a A$50Ultimate Student e-gift card.
5 x winners from Week 3 submissions will be drawn at random on Wednesday 30 April at 8:30am and will each receive a A$50Ultimate Student e-gift card.
1 x winner will be drawn at random from the combined submissions of all 3 weeks and will receive an Apple Watch SE 40mm Midnight Aluminium Case GPS Sport Band [2024] (Valued at A$399).
All winners’ names will be published on the Deakin Life blog on the same day they are drawn.
The Apple Watch will either be sent via post or arrangements will be made with the winner to pick them up on their respective campus.
Prizes are not transferrable and are not redeemable for cash. Deakin’s decision is final and binding – no correspondence will be entered into. Deakin accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications. Entries will be deemed void if forged, manipulated or tampered with in any way.
Entrants consent to Deakin using their name, image or voice for promotional purposes. Entrants agree to make themselves available for a photograph and interview if theirs is the winning entry and if requested by Deakin.
Prize recipients consent to their name and photograph being published on Deakin social media and other digital channels if requested to in all forms as determined by the Student Communications Team in Student Services.

Personal information provided to Deakin University by entrants will be used to notify the winner of the competition. A photograph of the winners may be published on Deakin University’s social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, WordPress and Instagram and other digital channels such as the Deakin Life blog.

Entrants have a right to access their personal information held by the University. Requests for access to personal information are managed under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Vic).
