Be aware of this road and carpark closure on Nicol Drive North at Waurn Ponds Campus
If you drive or take the intercampus bus to Waurn Ponds Campus, please be aware of these disruptions from construction. A section of Nicol Drive North from Building KE to Car Park 19 will be closed between Monday 24 March and Monday 16 June as a part of Phase 2 of the ongoing Integrated Water Management project.
Additionally, a portion of Nicol Drive North adjacent to Building LA, will be reduced to one lane with traffic management in place between Monday 12 May to Wednesday 11 June.
What will be impacted?
During this time, you can expect:
- Car Park 19 will be closed. Please use Car Park 20 and Car Park 11 as alternative parking
- Car Park 2 will remain accessible via entrance 1
- Stop 3 of the intercampus bus service, located on Nicol Drive North below building LA, will not be in service. The remaining intercampus bus stops will be unaffected.
- loud construction noise generated by heavy machinery
- traffic management will be in place
- contractors around the area
Integrated Water Management
Phase 2 of the Integrated Water Management project will continue to prepare Waurn Ponds campus for the challenges of climate change, including:
- improving stormwater infrastructure
- delivering water-sensitive urban design to minimise flooding and property damage in the case of an extreme weather event
- implementing recommendations from the 2020 Climate Adaptation Report
- supporting continued growth at the Waurn Ponds Campus.
