On a tight budget? You can get free groceries on campus at the DUSA Food Pantry
With the rising cost of living, we understand that many students are feeling the strain. That’s why your Student Association is proud to bring back the free DUSA Food Pantry!
Conveniently located on campus, this welfare initiative provides a selection of fresh fruit, veggies, and pantry staples to help you create nutritious meals. Just bring a bag and stock up on what you need to stay healthy and focused on your studies.

Visit the DUSA Food Pantry at your campus
The DUSA Food Pantry will be available on select weeks at multiple campuses:
- Burwood, Waurn Ponds, and Waterfront – Weeks 2, 4, 8 and 10.
- Warrnambool – Weeks 3, 5, 7 and 8.
The pantry opens at 11am and runs until supplies run out. Make sure you look on the DUSA What’s On webpage as the Food Pantry will be offered on different days across each campus during these weeks.
Registration for these events is a must! Please make sure you register in advance by visiting the Food Pantry event page via the DUSA website. Registrations go live the Friday before each DUSA Food Pantry is held.
Be sure to bring a bag as there are no reusable bags to give away this year. See you there!

Check out the following community food relief services in your area.
- Melbourne: You can find food relief services in your area via Local Food Connect.
- Geelong: Access emergency food across town via the Geelong Food Relief Centre. Feed Me also services the Geelong district plus the Bellarine and Surf Coast regions.
- Warrnambool: See the Warrnambool Community Food Guide for details of services which offer food vouchers, hampers and free meals. The Warrnambool and District Food Share service also offers advice on which services can help you in your local area.

DUSA offers a range of quick, easy and inexpensive recipes to download from the Food Pantry webpage. Plus, check out Deakin’s online healthy eating hub, Nourished @ Deakin, which features ideas, inspiration and step-by-step meal guides, all chosen by two Bachelor of Nutrition students.
