Find out how to park quickly and easily on campus!
The start of the study period is nearly here! Travelling to campus by public or active transport is a great way to start the day – but if you think you’ll need to drive to uni, make sure you know how to pay for parking ahead of time so you don’t end up with a parking fine.
Parking on campus
Parking is available at all our campuses, including accessible parking. Check out our campus maps for specific parking locations. As a student, you’ll be unable to park in any orange bays.
Australian campuses
- Burwood: all parking at Burwood is paid permit parking.
- Waurn Ponds: there’s paid permit parking, along with limited free parking in the blue Park and Go bays in Car Park 3, which connect to the intercampus bus.
- Waterfront: all parking at Waterfront is paid permit parking.
- The Multideck Carpark at Waterfront Campus is open. Positioned between Brougham Street and Smythe Street, next to Waterfront Student Accommodation, the car park has electric vehicle charging stations, a gym, a yoga studio and an activated laneway which will be used for market stalls and University and public events in future.
- Warrnambool: you can park for free in any of the white bays.

How to apply for a parking permit
As a Deakin student, you can purchase a long-term parking permit, valid for 120 days or 365 days from the date of purchase, via the vPermit website. To register, you’ll need your vehicle registration details and a valid credit card. Once registered, you can manage the vehicles listed on your vPermit through the vPermit app.
As a Deakin student vPermit holder, you can park in ‘General’ permit zones which are the white-lined spaces.

Use short-term parking with OPark
OPark is now Deakin’s short-term parking permit solution, replacing CellOPark.
To park using OPark, you will need to download the app from either Google Play or the Apple Store on your device.
- If you already have an account with CellOPark, you will NOT need to re-register in OPark as your account will be securely and automatically migrated. You will just need to log in to the OPark with your existing details. However, you will be prompted to set a new password upon your first time logging into OPark.
- If you did not previously have a CellOPark account, you can go ahead and register a new account.
Find out more, including pricing, on our Parking webpage.
