Exercise & Nutrition Sciences students: want real-world research training (and $1500)?
Are you a high-performing second-/third-/fourth-year student within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Science? You may be eligible to participate in the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition’s (IPAN) Research Excellence Program!
This is a competitive 12-week excellence program (with $1500 provided upon completion of the program) for up to eight top-performing undergraduate students (achieving average marks of 75% or greater) within the school.

What the program can offer you
The Research Excellence Scholarship Program will give selected students the opportunity to gain immersive experience within IPAN’s thriving research environment which spans the below research domains, departments and centres:
- Biology of Health and Disease
- Preventing and Managing Chronic Conditions
- Baker-Deakin Department of Lifestyle and Diabetes
- Healthy Active Living
- Food Nutrition and Health.
- Centre for Sport Research.
The program will be led by world-class leaders in research who will provide you with valuable insight about different pathway options and how to plan early for a career in research.
Importantly, this program will involve direct hands-on experience in the research environment which may include engaging with researchers in team meetings, data collection as part of live research projects, research laboratory workshops/demonstrations, and the opportunity to develop and present your own research project/plan in a conference environment. This program aims to help you develop highly-sought industry skills, experiences, and networking opportunities to help you transition into a successful career in research.
