A new and improved entry to Costa Hall is on its way!
Costa Hall at Geelong Waterfront Campus has long been an iconic part of Deakin. Many students have and will celebrate the culmination of their time at Deakin at a graduation ceremony at Costa Hall as well as many other events being held there.
To address accessibility issues posed by the current entrance and to give the auditorium an inspiring and distinct new entry point, project works will be commencing in the coming week with expected completion around September 2024.
During the program of works you can expect:
- Access changes, including altered pathway access externally
- Noise impacts to surrounding areas, including on Level 2 (teaching spaces D2.330, D2.194 and D2.193) and Level 3 (workspace D3.322)
- High-noise activities are expected on the following dates:
- 16 – 20 May (demolition works)
- 5 May – 9 July (installation of structural steel, windows and aluminium glazed doors)
- Contractor presence in and around Building D
- Loss of approximately 11 parking spaces in Car Park 3 due to site amenities
You will be notified if any of your room bookings or timetabling will be impacted as the project progresses.
