If you have kids, don’t miss this online cybersafety workshop
Excessive screen time. Cyberbullying. Online predators. If you’re a parent, you’re probably worrying about all these things (along with what to make for dinner).
Help is here! (Well, except for the dinner part.) Deakin lecturer and cybersafety researcher Dr Bianca Klettke is an expert in the online space and she’s hosting a free webinar on how to create safe and positive online experiences for children.
Learn how to equip yourself with the knowledge and tools to navigate the online landscape alongside your kids, with insights grounded in evidence-based research.
The ‘Keeping our children safe online’ webinar will focus on:
- Understanding the digital landscape: understand the physiological and psychological effects of prolonged screen time on a child’s wellbeing and how to establish balanced digital habits within the family.
- Navigating cyberbullying and online predators: learn how to recognise the signs of cyberbullying, promote healthy online relationships and foster open communication with your children about their online experiences.
- Maximising technology for learning and communication: technology also provides opportunities for education and communication. Discover ways to integrate technology into your child’s educational journey while minimising potential risks.
- Evidence-based strategies for cybersafety: from setting appropriate boundaries and monitoring online activities to encouraging positive online behaviour, you’ll learn actionable insights to implement immediately.
