This Women’s Health Week, join influential Deakin women to discuss important health topics
We all know our health and wellbeing is vitally important, but it’s so easy to let self-care and other positive habits slide when life gets busy – and it’s no secret that many females tend to put the needs of their loved ones ahead of themselves!
This coming Women’s Health Week, running from 4–8 September, we want to shine a spotlight on health and wellbeing topics relevant to all women, girls and gender-diverse people. Women’s health can be complicated and females experience a range of unique health concerns that can be accompanied by a lot of assumptions, misinformation and even stigma which can stem from misunderstanding.
The theme for Women’s Health Week 2023 is Grow your knowledge, and is aimed at supporting all women to make informed and healthy decisions with information that is easy to understand.
Learn more from inspiring Deakin women!
You’re invited to join us on campus or online for a special panel discussion with some amazing women from the Deakin community.
Hosted by two Wellbeing Ambassadors, our panel will share their lived experiences as they talk about how they maintain a balance between achieving their study and career goals while also making time for their health and wellbeing. Our speakers include (from left):
- Catherine Bennett – Alfred Deakin Professor and Chair of Epidemiology, School of Health and Social Development
- Jodie Satour – Associate Director Teaching and Learning, Senior Lecturer, Social Work, NIKERI Institute
