Keen to apply for a study abroad opportunity? You should attend an info session first
At Deakin, you have access to an incredible study abroad program that lets you choose from more than 120 global learning opportunities in over 30 countries. These range in length from a few weeks to a year, and you gain course credit at the same time.
There’s a range of different programs for you to consider:
- Short-term partner programs: progress your degree during June/July break and Trimester 3 with Deakin’s partner universities and approved hosts.
Applications for T3 are open from August–September. - Trimester abroad: study overseas for one trimester or a full year.
Applications for T2, 2024 open on 15 September 2023. - Faculty-led study tours: join a group of fellow students and study your favourite subject overseas.
Applications for T3 are now open. - Global Experiential Learning (GEL): gain work or research experience, or support the development of a community overseas for two to four weeks, twice a year during June/July break and T3.
Applications for T3 are open from August–September.
Your course structure will determine which program is most suitable for you. Various funding opportunities are available, subject to eligibility criteria.
Chelsea Sutherland, who recently did a trimester at Aarhus University in Denmark, described her study abroad experience as ‘absolutely unforgettable’:
Aarhus University is an excellent place to attend. The campus is stunning and all the subjects I’ve studied have been really interesting. The student organisation there was absolutely phenomenal in planning events for new international students, and I made so many amazing friends.
