Keen to try Aussie Rules? Be coached by the Geelong Cats at our 2023 AFL clinic!

As one of our most popular pastimes, it’s hard to miss Australian Rules football in winter! But this unique Aussie sport is not just for the professionals. If you’d like to learn more about footy – and give it a go yourself – sign up for our wildly popular Geelong Cats AFL clinic, which is exclusively available to our international students.

What’s on offer?

In a visit to GMHBA Stadium, you’ll learn from elite AFL players from both the men’s (AFL) and women’s (AFLW) competitions! During the clinic, you’ll:

You’ll also score a double pass to bring a friend or family member to see the Geelong men’s team take on Fremantle on Saturday 29 July at GMHBA Stadium! You’ll need to show your Deakin ID at the end of the clinic to claim your ticket.

When and where?

When: Friday 28 July, 10.30am to 12.30pm.
Where: GMHBA Stadium – we’ll meet at the Charles & Co Cafe. Try to arrive a few minutes early so you can find the group and be ready to start the tour!

When you register, you’ll find more information about how to get to GMHBA Stadium from Geelong and Melbourne, including a Deakin-chartered bus from both Waurn Ponds and Waterfront campuses, as well as public transport options. While we know it’s further to travel, Burwood-based international students are also very welcome to attend!
