Geelong Cats celebrating their 2022 AFL premiership victory.

7 July 2023

Love your footy? Meet Geelong Cats stars Tom Atkins and Meg McDonald on campus!

Don’t miss this! We’re excited to welcome Geelong AFLW captain Meg McDonald and 2022 AFL premiership player and Cats Pride Ambassador Tom Atkins to our Waurn Ponds Campus for a very special event.

Meg and Tom will chat about the 2022 premiership campaign and the meteoric growth of the AFLW, and tackle some big issues like positive culture, mental health, inclusion and leadership.

Hosted by Tom Molyneux, Deakin’s Indigenous Inclusion Manager – and long-time Cats tragic – you’ll hear stories from the players’ careers, learn about the importance of a positive team culture and have the chance to ask questions in this interactive forum.

There’s also a free dinner and Geelong Cats merch up for grabs – *bonus*!

When: Wednesday 19 July, 5.30–7.30pm
Building FY (Town Hall), Deakin Residential Services
Waurn Ponds Campus, 75 Pigdons Road

Register now to get up close with two greats of the game, enjoy a unique footy fix and learn what we can do to contribute to our wider communities. Places are limited, so get in quick!
