Deakin will now be closed for the King’s Birthday public holiday on Monday 12 June 2023.
King’s Birthday is a public holiday observed on the second Monday of June in Victoria and most states of Australia. It marks the official birthday of Australia’s monarch, King Charles III.
All student facing services on the campuses will be closed, but the Library and some cafes will be available.

Library
The Deakin Library will remain open to support students studying for their exams. Find their opening hours through the Library hours and location webpage.
Food on campus
There will be some cafe’s open on campuses for the King’s Birthday.
- Burwood – Corner Cafe open from 9am – 2pm
- Waurn Ponds – Mr Tod open from 8am – 4pm
- Waterfont – The Common open from 8am – 4pm
- Warrnambool – Brother Fox open from 10am – 1pm
