Stress-free ways to get to our Burwood and Warrnambool campuses
How are you planning to travel to campus this study period?
Driving isn’t the only choice – there’s lots of convenient transport options available that will help to make our campuses more sustainable, and save you money, time and hassle. You’ll also enjoy added benefits like more incidental physical activity and extra time to read, listen to music or just unwind.
Here’s some ways to ditch the car and still make it to class!
Public transport
It’s easiest to get a tram or bus to Deakin Burwood but you can also get a train to Box Hill Station and catch a connecting bus from there.
At Warrnambool, buses stop right in Cafeteria Lane, while Sherwood Park Railway Station is on the edge of campus.
Check out Public Transport Victoria (PTV) for more information and to plan your journey. If you catch a metro train, the online tool RideSpace lets you see real-time passenger volumes on trains, platforms and stations.
Active transport
Our beautifully green campuses are best experienced on foot or two wheels, so give active transport a go if you live close to campus. To support your active commute, we have showers, change rooms, lockers and bike hubs available on all campuses.
Carpooling
Carpooling to Deakin has been made super easy with the Liftango app, which matches staff and students who share similar journeys to and from our campuses. It’s free to join and you’ll be rewarded with an easier commute.
Still need to drive?
If these other transport options don’t suit your circumstances, parking is available on campus. Remember that all parking at Burwood is paid permit parking, while at Warrnambool you can park for free in any of the white bays. Parking spaces may be limited in peak periods.
