Join the Deakin crew at the 2023 Midsumma Pride March!
At Deakin, we believe in inclusion and we support diversity, including members of our community who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender-diverse, intersex, queer or questioning their gender or sexuality. One of the most joyful ways to flaunt your LGBTIQA+ pride and allyship is Melbourne’s iconic Midsumma Pride March – so will you march with us in February 2023?
Midsumma Pride March is THE place to celebrate all gender expressions, sexualities, experiences and personalities with colours, sparkle and style! Whether you’re a member of our queer community or an ally, we’d love a huge crew of Deakin staff and students to march together as a unified and joyful group. Come on wheels or by foot, and bring family, friends and workmates along too!
The free event will kick off around 11am with a pre-march procession by Dykes on Bikes, followed by thousands of marchers. After the march, the party will continue with free entertainment, including DJs and live performances.

Register your expression of interest to march by Sunday 27 November – we’ll contact you with more information closer to the time.
Food will be available in the march precinct, but don’t forget a water bottle (there will be water stations for refilling) and a hat and sunscreen. Parking in the surrounding areas will be very limited, so plan your journey by public transport to make your day as relaxed as possible.
