Representing the Diamonds in the annual trans-Tasman netball series against New Zealand, our sporting stars were part of a tense four-game series that ended with both sides on two wins. The Diamonds secured victory in the deciding game on the Gold Coast on Sunday and claimed the silverware on aggregate points.

The Diamonds won the final game 57–53 in front of a passionate home crowd, after trailing for the first two quarters, and reclaimed the Cup after losing it to fierce rivals New Zealand in 2021.

Captain Liz Watson, who is studying a Bachelor of Education – Primary, led the Diamonds superbly, with her passing in tight spaces a particular highlight. She ended the game with 17 goal assists and 31 feeds.

The victory marks the Diamonds’ 100th win over New Zealand. Congratulations to Liz, Jo and Kate on an amazing feat!
