Interested in economic matters? Experts share their insights in this free Community Bank event

Australia is currently dealing with a global energy crisis and inflation shock – so how recession-proof is our economy? Are the cost-of-living pressures we’re all facing going to get worse and what is the future for Australia’s property market?

These issues are relevant to everyone, so educate yourself about the state of our economy by attending the Deakin–Bendigo Bank Economic Market Update, which will be held at our Burwood and Waterfront campuses.

David is one of Australia’s leading and most entertaining financial market commentators. Informed, respected and witty, he speaks in real terms and will leave you with invaluable insights.


Dr Jian LiangDr Jian Liang, Senior Lecturer in Property and Real Estate, Department of Finance, Deakin Business School (Burwood event only)

Jian is an expert in applying data science and cutting-edge econometric modelling to solve practical questions in real estate, such as the cost of COVID lockdowns. His research has been reported in media including The Conversation, the Herald Sun and realestate.com.au.


Dr Ameeta JainDr Ameeta Jain, Course Director of property undergraduate programs at Deakin (Waterfront event only)

Ameeta has more than 15 years experience lecturing in property, economics and finance units, and has led the development and enhancement of various courses. Ameeta’s research centres around issues of sustainability and resilience in regions as well as property markets.
