Stay sharp this exam period with a DeakinACTIVE routine
As the days get shorter and temperatures drop, it’s more important than ever to implement ways to keep moving every day, just like you would commit to a study routine.
It’s well established that exercise improves mental health and cognitive function, so make sure you’re getting at least 30 minutes a day as you enter revision mode for the end of T1. Download the DeakinMOVES app and join our June fitness challenges, or give one of our personal trainers or fitness centres a try – it’ll keep you firing and in peak condition as you sit your exams!
Choose your challenge
Join one (or both) of our monthly challenges this June on the DeakinMOVES app to hit your 30 minutes of daily movement. We’ve got some great prizes up for grabs! See the app for full details.
- Tune up June challenge: Everyone who attends at least 15 group fitness classes over June will win a body scan session with one of our trainers!
- Calorie mentality challenge: It’s a race to burn the most calories! Whoever burns the most calories over June will win a one-month free membership (second and third runners-up will win a two-week membership).

During the week, we’ll speak to a variety of men (students and staff) about their mental health and ask them to share the challenges either they or a friend have faced, where you can find help if you need it, and great tips and tricks to help you with your mental health. Stay tuned to our DeakinACTIVE Instagram and Facebook channels for updates!
Get strong, stay safe
Every Wednesday from 7–10am, DeakinACTIVE provides a Safe Space inside our facilities that is welcoming and accessible to all. We invite all students and staff who may be neurodivergent, part of our LGBTIQ+ community and/or who may have a mental or physical disability, to come and train with us at no cost and with no obligations. See the DeakinACTIVE website for details.
