As we move closer to the T1/S1 exam and final assessment period, are you wondering how you can most effectively fine-tune your focus and tackle your unit revision?
The THRIVE: Wellbeing and study success sessions are a series of virtual workshops designed to arm you with the essential skills you’ll need to succeed and get the most out of yourself and your Deakin studies. The sessions have been developed based on identified student needs and established psychological theories. Delivered in partnership with the Faculty of Health, the sessions are available for all Deakin students to help you thrive in your studies.

The T1/S1 THRIVE sessions are facilitated by Atticus Gray, who is currently completing his PhD in Psychology at Deakin. Atticus delivers seminars at Deakin across a variety of Psychology undergraduate units and is passionate about effective teaching. He loves games of all sorts and facilitates social learning through role-playing games. His hobby is pursuing self-education and he has embraced online learning.
The THRIVE sessions have been designed to be interactive to equip you with the confidence and ability to practically apply the skills you learn – as such, recordings of the workshops are not available at a later time. THRIVE: Overcoming procrastination
Understand the emotions behind why we procrastinate on tasks and how you can overcome this counterproductive habit. This session will also cover reflective practice and identifying when to ask for support when you need help.

THRIVE: Strategies for managing stress and anxiety
Beat any end-of-trimester worries by understanding external and internal factors that can induce stress and anxiety. We’ll explain how you can differentiate between stress and anxiety, and discuss emotion and problem-focused coping.
