What we offer
Deakin Res is a unique residential environment that’s so much more than just a comfy bed in a safe building. Each campus features a variety of accommodation options, from state-of-the-art contemporary student housing to traditional village living. There’s single- and mixed-gender options, studio and shared configurations, amazing communal facilities, and different lease lengths and pricing.

Why you should make the move
Fun fact: students who live on campus are more likely to achieve higher grades than their peers! But there’s a bunch of other reasons to live on campus too, which we sum up in four ways:
- Connected: On-campus students – who come from many different backgrounds – have a stronger sense of belonging and deeper friendships, thanks to our living options and peer support services. Our induction and orientation program will help you to settle in, and you’ll make friends for life at our small and large social events, covering everything from moonlight cinema to trivia!
- Convenient: Not a morning person? No worries! Classes and facilities like the library and gym are just a short walk away, while each precinct includes study and movie areas, laundries, pool tables and outdoor spaces. Everything – including utilities and the amazing wi-fi – is covered by our no-fuss payment system.
- Safe: We offer 24/7 customer service and security, so you’ll never be stranded without help. Our COVIDSafe hygiene standards are top notch and your personal welfare is our top priority, with our culture guided by our RESPECT values.
- Supported: Our Residential Leaders (RLs) know what it’s like to live on campus and are here to give you a warm welcome. You’ll discover the joys of independence (yes, even laundry!) with a fantastic support network in place. If you return for your second or third year, you’ll have the chance to become an RL yourself. In this role, you’ll help others and meet more friends – plus it’ll look great on your CV!

I love how central Res is, it’s made everything convenient as I don’t have to travel to access things I might need like a supermarket. The local Westfield shops are only a five-minute walk, and my friends and I also enjoy swimming at Eastern Beach on warmer days.

We operate in a COVIDSafe way according to government and health advice, including hand sanitising stations, increased cleaning and regular welfare checks. To live on campus, all students must provide proof of full vaccination (or have an approved medical exemption).
