Staying safe on campus: register for the SafeZone app now

Welcome to Trimester 1/Semester 1! We’re thrilled to welcome you to Deakin for the first time or to welcome you back to our campuses. We want everyone to have an enjoyable and successful time at Deakin, which is why we need to highlight the importance of personal safety now that we’ll be returning to campus in greater numbers in 2022.

Have you got SafeZone yet?

Once you’ve downloaded the app (Apple or Android) and completed the registration process, you can use SafeZone to:

SafeZone is available 24/7 at all Deakin campuses. It can also be used along the Deakin inter-campus shuttle route in Geelong, and includes a bus tracker feature so you know when the bus will arrive.

Want to know more?

If you have any questions about the app or how to use it, please contact [email protected] or visit the SafeZone website for a detailed User Guide. You can also visit the Current Students website for more information about safety and security at Deakin.

We’d also encourage you to pop the Deakin Security phone number (1800 062 579) into your contacts list just in case. In the case of an emergency, please call 000 immediately.

For more information, read Deakin’s safety tips for when you’re on campus (which includes advice for when you’re in places like the library, at a student residence or in a carpark) and My guide to personal safety, which outlines what to do and who to contact in a range of emergency situations.
