Staying safe on campus: register for the SafeZone app now
Welcome to Trimester 1/Semester 1! We’re thrilled to welcome you to Deakin for the first time or to welcome you back to our campuses. We want everyone to have an enjoyable and successful time at Deakin, which is why we need to highlight the importance of personal safety now that we’ll be returning to campus in greater numbers in 2022.
Have you got SafeZone yet?
SafeZone is your free on-campus safety app. Our Security team uses it to manage emergency response and communication during incidents that take place on campus.
Once you’ve downloaded the app (Apple or Android) and completed the registration process, you can use SafeZone to:
- call for help if you need assistance on campus
- call for first aid if you need medical assistance
- call for emergency assistance if you feel threatened or need urgent assistance
- receive campus notifications if there is an incident on campus that requires you to take action
- check in manually or automatically when working alone.
SafeZone is available 24/7 at all Deakin campuses. It can also be used along the Deakin inter-campus shuttle route in Geelong, and includes a bus tracker feature so you know when the bus will arrive.
