How to avoid getting a parking fine on campus

The start of Trimester 1 is our busiest time of year, as we welcome an influx of students, staff and visitors to each campus. If possible, we recommend you leave your car at home and consider the advantages of taking alternative modes of travel to campus.

Why not de-stress on a bus or train and read a book, or do some incidental exercise by walking or riding a bike? You’ll be looking after yourself AND the environment, you’ll avoid the inevitable hunt for a car park and you’ll save some money too!

But if you need to drive to uni, read on for some important information about parking on campus. Make sure you decide how you’re going to pay for parking before your first day on campus so you don’t end up with a parking fine.

Where to park on campus

All of our campuses provide multiple parking options, including accessible parking. Check out our campus maps for specific parking locations.

Free parking

Permit parking

All other car parking requires a paid permit between 8.30 am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Parking permits are not required for motorcycles, scooters or bicycles.

If you’re studying at Waterfront Campus this trimester, you need to know that Car Park 3 is now closed and spots in Car Park 2 will be extremely limited throughout Trimester 1.

Burwood and Waurn Ponds offer a range of parking permits and payment options. Different permits apply in different areas, so please follow the signs:

Remember that holding a parking permit does not guarantee you a car park on campus.

Save on parking this trimester!
