The Waterfront Express shuttle bus service is back!
Did you know there are two free bus services operating in Geelong exclusively for Deakin students and staff?
The Intercampus Bus is a shuttle service between the Waterfront and Waurn Ponds campuses that incorporates a park and ride service from the Barwon Valley Activity Centre in Belmont. In addition to this, we are pleased to announce the Waterfront Express bus service from East Geelong to the Waterfront Campus has resumed this month!
If you live in Geelong or surrounding areas, the Waterfront Express is a quick and convenient service that can get you to campus with minimal fuss and at no cost to you! In addition to saving you money on parking, you’ll also be helping our environment as we work to reduce our transport emissions as part of Deakin’s sustainability commitments.
Keen to catch the Waterfront Express?
The Waterfront Express operates Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6.15pm.
You can park your car for free at the Try Boys Basketball Stadium at 501 Ryrie St, East Geelong (near the corner of Portarlington and Boundary Roads). The bus departs from there and travels directly to the Waterfront on a continuous loop all day – approximately every 30 minutes.
You can see the both the Waterfront Express and Intercampus Bus timetables via the Get to Deakin webpages.
Remember you’ll need to show your Deakin ID card as you get on the bus, so if you haven’t got yours yet, order your Deakin Card online now.
Heading to Waurn Ponds? Try our new Park and Go facilities!
As of this week, the Waurn Ponds Campus is now officially home to a new ‘Park and Go’ transport option for all students and staff, where you can park your car for free and finish the last leg of your journey by riding, walking, or catching the Intercampus Bus.
To find out more about how you can save money and help our environment as you travel to campus, read more about Park and Go in our recent Deakin Life blog.
