Paid parking on campus resumes in March
**UPDATE Monday 31 January: A previous version of this blog stated that paid parking would resume from Monday 7 February; however, this date has been moved to Monday 7 March. You’ll be able to buy a long-term permit from Tuesday 1 March.**
From Monday 7 March, paid parking resumes at all Deakin campuses (except Warrnambool). This means that when you park at Deakin, you’ll need to have a valid permit to avoid an infringement. There are two permit types to choose from, so you can consider which will best suit your needs with your study timetable:
- Casual – pay by the hour or day (via CellOPark)
- Long-term – pay upfront for 120 or 365 days (via vPermit)
More information is available on the Get to Deakin webpage, including contact details for the transport team. You can also view the locations of our campus car parks.
Introducing ‘Park and Go’ at the Waurn Ponds Campus
From Monday 7 February, you can park for free in Car Park 3 at Waurn Ponds in the new ‘Park and Go’ area and finish your journey by walking to your destination or catching the intercampus bus to the Waterfront Campus. You can currently catch the intercampus bus from Stop 1 located adjacent to the Transit Hub. From 7 March, a new bus stop will also be servicing Car Park 3.
You must park in the designated ‘Park and Go’ area (pictured) – make sure you look for the blue bays and signs before you park. All other parking at Waurn Ponds will require a paid permit. This includes Car Park 20, which previously had free parking.
‘Park and Go’ aims to work towards our sustainability commitments, while also ensuring that we support your travel needs. Thanks for helping us to reduce our emissions – and look out for more information soon!
