Have you been impacted by COVID-19? Here’s what you need to know about T3 assignment extensions and special consideration
As we head into the final assessment period for Trimester 3, we understand the increasing numbers of COVID-19 in the community may result in you contracting the virus or being impacted in other ways.
While we urge you to take care of your health and adhere to the current COVIDSafe settings to keep our community safe, please know support is available if you are unwell or disadvantaged due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are consequently unable to complete an assessment or exam by the scheduled deadline.
Deakin is committed to supporting all students affected by COVID-19 as we head into the final assessment period. As such, you may be eligible for assignment extensions and/or special consideration for exams.
Assignment extensions
Deakin has adopted a University-wide position that any student impacted by a positive result for COVID-19 can seek an assignment extension of seven days, if you provide supplementary evidence such as:
- evidence of positive PCR test
- a recording of a positive rapid antigen test (RAT) in the state reporting system.
Please email your Unit Chair in the first instance providing the required supplementary evidence.
Special consideration for the T3 exam period
You may be eligible for special consideration if you are facing personal hardship as a result of COVID-19 or other exceptional circumstances that prevent you from undertaking or completing an assessment task at the scheduled time. If you need to apply for special consideration during the Trimester 3 exam period, see the Special consideration webpage for information or seek advice from Student Central about what you should do.
