Soak up the fun with Deakin’s Summer Program – you could also win tickets to the Australian Open!

What are you most looking forward to during the summer holidays? As the sunshine returns, campuses begin buzzing again and we prepare to wind down for the end of 2021, it seems like we’re all feeling a strange mix of elation, restlessness and relief.

While you may be excited to just let loose and party with friends and family, many of us are also still recalibrating after a rollercoaster of a year and craving a more laid-back break. That’s why we’re thrilled to finally bring you Deakin’s Summer Program! We’ve lined up an exciting and diverse range of events in your local community to offer you free and fun experiences throughout Victoria to enjoy over the holidays. No matter what mood you’re going for this summer, you’ll find activities to help you relax, recharge and reconnect with others.

What does your perfect summer look like?

Take a look at the Summer Program events calendar to find something to delight you over the break and start 2022 feeling rested, inspired and with a renewed sense of purpose!

You can browse all events in the calendar, filter by events closest to your home campus, and/or search events within following categories.

Plus, we’re also giving away tickets to the 2022 Australian Open in Melbourne to a lucky few – enter now for your chance to win!

Win one of ten double passes to the Australian Open!

It doesn’t quite feel like January until you find yourself simultaneously blasting the air-con and tennis on the telly over long summer evenings. Melbourne well and truly comes alive during the Australian Open in the new year, and we want to get you there to experience the amazing vibe at Melbourne Park and Birrarung Marr for yourself!

We’re giving away ten double passes to the 2022 Australian Open (29 January), valued at $58 each. These tickets are Ground Passes which will gain you and a friend access to the Australian Open entertainment precinct and the unreserved section of all courts (other than the show-courts, the Rod Laver Arena and Margaret Court Arena). Please note you will need to be vaccinated to gain access to the Australian Open.

This competition closed at 5pm on Monday 6 December.

Congratulations to our winners of the Australian Open double passes, Michael McCarthy, Jodie McKenzie, Rudan Fan, Raagini Ramasubramanian, Dave McDougall, Reysi Abudara, Emma Murray, Susan Byrne and Shing Tian Chiang.

Remember: as per Victoria’s Roadmap and Deakin’s COVIDSafe planonly fully vaccinated students, staff or visitors (or those with an approved exemption) can participate. Read more about your vaccination rights and responsibilities in Deakin’s COVIDSafe FAQs.
