Two male students at Waterfront Campus

26 October 2021

Have a free health check in T3, 2021 and you could win $100!

Studying at uni while you’re living far away from friends, family and everything that’s familiar isn’t always easy, especially with the added challenges COVID has brought. But it’s important that you don’t start to neglect your personal health and wellbeing – after all, to succeed in your studies you need to be fit and healthy.

To help you feel your best, we offer all international students free and confidential on-campus health checks. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a new or a continuing student, or which provider you’re with for your Overseas Health Cover (OSHC).

How it works

You’ll visit one of our Deakin Health and Wellbeing Centres for your health check, which takes just 30 minutes and gives you a quick snapshot of your overall health.

Your consultation will be with a friendly and qualified Bupa nurse. You’ll have a glucose and blood pressure check, and discuss your health and wellbeing. You’ll also receive a personal results booklet that includes health information and advice specific to your gender and age group.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve had a health check before – we encourage you to book in for another one. That way, you’ll see how you’re progressing or be able to follow up on any issues.

Free appointments are available throughout November:

Places will fill up fast, so don’t delay!

You could also win $100!

All students who attend a T3 health check will go into the draw to win a $100 Rebel Sport voucher! We’re giving away one each month – just fill in the competition form after your consultation.

You should also check out Bupa’s International Community webpage for some great shared stories, resources and advice.

Staying COVIDSafe on campus

COVIDSafe measures are in place on campus, so please follow all staff instructions during your appointment. Anyone visiting the HWB Centre must wear a face mask

Remember: if on the day of your appointment you’re not feeling well, you’ve been tested for COVID-19 or you’ve been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case, please do NOT attend. Instead, call the dedicated 24-hour hotline on 1800 675 398 or visit the Victorian Government coronavirus website for information on what to do next.
