Boost your employability: apply for a Global Citizenship Award by 31 October

Are you part of Deakin’s amazing Global Citizenship Program (GCP)? If you signed up to develop your skills in areas that are important in the global workplace and community, and have been busily undertaking a range of global learning experiences, then now’s the time to reap the rewards!

Apply for a Global Citizenship Award and you’ll also be awarded a GCP digital credential, which you can use to validate and share your achievement through professional platforms like LinkedIn or digital resumes. The award will also be recorded on your statement of academic achievement when you graduate.

How does it work?

To be eligible for a Global Citizenship Award certificate and digital credential, you must have completed at least two primary and three secondary activities recognised by the GCP. These activities include diverse global learning experiences such as:

You can also apply for the award even if you haven’t registered for the GCP. We’ll consider your application as long as you’ve undertaken relevant activities to increase your knowledge, skills and experience within a global context.

To apply for the award you need to:

  1. Set up your application profile on the portal.
  2. Complete the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Awareness Module on CloudDeakin.
  3. Submit a ‘Me in a Minute’ video.
  4. Upload your activities (including supporting documentation) to your application profile.
  5. Complete the GCP Award questionnaire.

Applications close on Sunday 31 October, so get to it! You’ll find all you need to know on the application portal.

Can you tell me more about the GCP?

More than ever, employers are looking for workers who are globally aware, culturally sensitive, and adapt well to new and diverse environments.

The GCP is primarily non-credit-bearing, but it will solidify your skills and knowledge of what it takes to be a true Global Citizen. You’ll also be joining a community of over 10,000 students who’ve learnt how to work in global contexts and better understand other cultures.

Learn more about the GCP or email [email protected] with any questions.

Good luck with your application!
