Take some time out to recharge before exams during DUSA Wellness Week

Welcome to the final weeks of Trimester 2! We know you’re all busy preparing for final assignments and exams right now, but remember it’s also really important that you’re taking frequent breaks to relax and prioritise your wellbeing.

That’s why during DUSA Wellness Week (Monday 20–Friday 24 September) we’re running a series of events to help you de-stress, take a breather and refocus on your self-care in the lead-up to the final assessment period.

Spread some joy

Come along to this free workshop comprising a combination of restorative yoga, guided meditation, breath work and self-appreciation exercises. This session will teach you how to engage your parasympathetic nervous system (the body’s ‘rest and restore’ system) to allow you to process and relieve any built-up stress. We’ll also go through some reflective joy and gratitude exercises so you’ll finish the session feeling calm, clear and content. Please note registrations are essential.

Have a yarn

Join us for an afternoon of social chatter while you work on your current craft projects. Whether you spend your hours knitting toys, sewing clothes, folding origami, wood carving, handmaking jewellery or creating just about anything, we’re keen to see your handiwork!

Chill out…

Take some time out to stretch your body and relax your mind in between your study sessions. Join us for one (or all!) of our meditation, yoga, pilates or office exercises sessions during the week, courtesy of our friendly instructors from DeakinACTIVE.

Or really work up a sweat!

DeakinACTIVE are also holding sessions to strengthen your core and amp up your fitness – join in for a great workout that will support your study posture and stamina!
